Introduction :

Art as an expression for adults can be a relief, an opportunity to re-activate, strengthen and increase an existential joy. Arts for adults denotes a particular way of seeing the human being, a unique life philosophy, a vision of what is most precious for a person. Appreciating art within the society offers an axiological dimension of this society, of its attitude and axiological refinement. Expression of art leads to new horizons because it fosters an inquiring and reflective spirit and it offers a superior meaning to life itself. Art as an expression has its own benefits like it helps relieving mental stress, teaches new skills, fosters social connections and more.In this beginners course, we aim to lay foundation with various tools and techniques that invigorates the artist within you and prepares you for the basics of visual art ie. sketching drawing and use of colours.

What will you learn during the Workshop:

For the adult beginners module, a systemic design module that integrates the basic tools and techniques to invigorate the understanding of various components of visual hand art.

The module is carefully divided into 4 Semesters of 3 Months , 24 sessions in 3 Months (8 sessions per month) as follows :

Semester 1 (24 sessions) : Initiation Module : Basic Tools and techniques- The module starts with covering the basic understanding and usage of tools and techniques of drawing and sketching.- Understanding and composition of shapes and forms and blending it with the effects of lights and shadow techniques. - Invigorate the learnt skills with scribbling, Strippling, weaving techniques and turn random scribbling into artistic perspectives. - The last segment of the module focuses on the most colourful element of nature : Birds. Focus is on their anatomy, understanding and composition, detailing and shaping and texturing.

Semester 2 (24 Sessions) : Colouring : Birds, Landscape and Nature Elements- The module starts with Introduction to Pastel colours and techniques used.- The overlay of the colouring module starts with the playful colors of Birds and defined use of pastel colours without perspective to develop the blend.- The module then moves on to the Landscapes like beach view where the usage of colours defines the space and essence of the landscapes.- The last segment of the module deals with colouring of Trees as nature elements. Various trees with playful blends of colours are poured on canvas going life to the module in its most primitive form.

Semester 3 (24 sessions) : Landscaping with nature and Still Life Composition : - Is time to put skills into practice. The module starts with combining the Landscaping elements with the nature elements and creating theme based compositions. - Still Life Compositions : The Final Segment of the Course combines all the techniques to understand and recreate Realistic Still life images. The segment includes Still life compositions of inanimate Objects and fruits and flowers with detailing on 3D proportions and shadowing.

Semester 4 (24 Sessions) : We will begin with learning the anatomy of the face by drawing front, side, diagonal profiles of the basic face structure. Once that is achieved, we will break down each parts individually to understand the dimensions and detailing that are required while making the complete face as a whole. This semester will be about polishing the basic learning and practising rigorously to achieve portraits that look absolutely realistic and learning various facial expressions and emotions. We will be experimenting a kids portrait as well as a adult portrait to understand the difference between the technical requirements while drawing different age groups. We will also be looking at the hiccups that the students might face while drawing as every individual has different learning capacities.

How will the sessions be conducted?

- This will be a LIVE session over zoom and recordings can be shared for the day if the student misses out on live class, if requested via email.

- We like to keep the sessions engaging so we try to provide instant feedback, and you can raise your queries and concerns one by one whilst at the workshop.

- The workshop has limited seats so everyone gets the time to engage with the artist / trainer.

- For the best experience you can join the workshop from your laptop / desktop or watch on phone in landscape mode, with a strong internet connectivity.

- We request all our students to login 10 minutes prior to the workshop, so if there are any technical difficulties faced, they don't lead to a delay in the session.
