Introduction : Charcoal is a versatile artist tool which can be used to suit a wide variety of artwork styles and one of the oldest elements used to create some fabulous paintings. Join a 8 day workshop with BAFA to understand the basic techniques of using charcoal while painting. Learn how to create stunning monochromes and recognize the goodness of creating black and white paintings.

This demo workshop will be a brief idea on what are the kind of topics we will cover in our Charcoal Painting Foundation Course in detail.

What will you learn during the Workshop:

How to understand the anatomy of the feature and draw those features using simple shapes and how adding layers allows to create detail. Tips on adding variety to the facial features, like eyes, noses, mouths and ears to learn creating different kinds of faces. Quick formulas on drawing facial features seamlessly. How to use charcoal for shading, blending and detailing.  How to play with the tonality in the sketches to give them a realistic effect.  How to adjust the contrasting effect as per the need to the drawing that we select.  How to use a proper grid method to achieve photo-realism in drawing.

About Artist: The BAFA Artisan, Mr. Durgesh comes with his own expertise in Sketching as he has spent years in the industry creating different artworks with sketching everyday. His motto is to depicts in his art is veiled in shadow, and rarely touches any sight of colour. As such, it is no wonder that charcoal was a frequently used medium of his throughout his work.

His portraits are also dark, with bold smudge marks and thick black outlines. Durgesh uses cross-hatching to build up tone, which is fairly noticeable in much of his artwork.

With the best of artists as our faculty, we aim to impart the knowledge of art to our students that will help them in their career of art.
